피에르 아모얄(Pierre Amoyal, 1949 –     , Paris )이 켜는 프랑크의 바이올린소나타를 들었습니다. 2012년 1월 일본에서 열렸던 실황 녹화 연주였습니다.

과연 가을에는 바이올린 음악이 심금을 울리는 것을 새삼 느꼈습니다.아모얄은 프랑스 파리에서 1949년 태어났다고 합니다. 12세에 파리컨서바토리를 1등으로 졸업했고, LA에 가서 5년 동안 야사 하이페츠에게서 바이올린을 배웠다고 합니다. 유럽에서의 공연은 22살이 되어서 게오르그 솔티가 지휘하는 파리교향악단과 함께였다고 합니다.

아모얄이 연주하는 악기는 ‘코칸스키(Kochanski)’라는 1717년에 만든 ‘스트라바리우스’로서 명기로 알려져 있습니다. 1987년에는 이탈리아에서 악기를 도둑맞았다가 4년만에 극적으로 되찾아 더욱 유명해졌습니다.

NHK 위성방송에서는 55분 분량을 방영했는데, 그리그 3번 1, 3악장, 타이스의 명상, 프랑크소나타였습니다. 가을에는 브람스 음악이 제격입니다. 특히 가을에 듣는 브람스의 바이올린소나타는 일품입니다. 그런데 오늘 들어보니, 그리그나 프랑크의 소나타도 가을에 어울리는 음악들 같았습니다.아모얄의 연주는 부드럽고 섬세했습니다. 악기 자체의 음색이 그렇게 부드러울 수가 없었습니다. 바이올린 음악은, 음악 자체의 아름다움도 즐겁지만, 악기의 음색을 음미하는 재미도 있습니다.

Pierre Amoyal (b. 1949, Paris), is a French violinist. He studied at the Conservatoire de Paris, graduating at age 12 with a First Prize (in 1961). He then won the Ginette Neveu Prize in 1963, and the Paganini Prize in 1964. At age 17, he traveled to Los Angeles for five years of study with Jascha Heifetz, which culminated in participating in chamber-music recordings with Heifetz. During this time he won the Enescu Prize (1970). He has toured extensively, made numerous recordings and played with many major conductors, such as Sir Georg Solti, with whom he made his European debut at the age of 22, Pierre Boulez, and Herbert von Karajan with the Berlin Philharmonic

He is the artistic director at the Academie de Lausanne. In 2002, he founded the Camerata de Lausanne, a string orchestra. He was made a Chevalier of Arts and Letters in 1985 and promoted to Chevalier de l’Ordre National de Mérite in 1995.

He owns the “Kochanski” Stradivarius of 1717. It was stolen from him in 1987 and recovered in 1991.
